We shine the spotlight next on SmartyBots Coding and Robotics.

SmartyBots Coding and Robotics aims to teach foundational skills and concepts to students in K-8. The program uses developmentally appropriate educational materials that foster a “Deceptively-Fun Stealth-Learning ™” environment that kids love. We use educational tools like LEGO (r) MindStorms, Robot Inventors, Spike, and WeDo kits that “kids” of all ages are drawn to “play” with, talk about all week, and look forward to the next learning session. The goal is to take students at ANY computer literacy level and then build and develop student capacity so that they can apply high-level coding and logic skills against mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineering concepts to create complex movement and robotic maneuvers that wow and amaze!

The founder brings 40 years of coding and engineering experience along with the last 7 years of teaching these skills directly to students in a classroom environment for fun or as part of a competitive robotics team. SmartyBots Coding and Robotics will offer After School and Evening community-based programs starting Fall 2023, in places like FCDI’s AMRoC Fab Lab and other community learning centers.
